Charles Chen

Founder & CEO

A problem-solver, strategist, and entrepreneur who excels at the intersection of technology, business, and innovation. Before founding NovaEdge, Charles led teams as a Product Leader at the cybersecurity firm Datto and a Digital Consultant at Deloitte Digital, where he worked with some of the world’s largest brands, including Air Canada, Honda, Walmart, TD Canada Trust, EQ Bank, Purolator, amongst others.

His expertise has helped companies harness technology to gain a real competitive edge. With a proven track record of turning ideas into action, Charles founded NovaEdge to bring high-impact thinking to businesses seeking to innovate, optimize, and scale. Whether advising startups, managing digital transformations, or investing in emerging ventures, his focus is on driving tangible results.

Kael Karlo Cruz

Head of Design

Kael is a multi-disciplinary creative that has worked in the Advertising, Consulting, and UX spaces for over a decade—at agencies like FCB Toronto, Public Inc, and Deloitte Digital. He's worked as a Design Lead, Art-Director, Copywriter, Brand Designer, Motion Graphics Artist, UX Researcher, and UX Designer, with brands like Oreo, Fairmont Hotels, and Honda.

A former part-time design instructor for Humber College in Toronto, Canada, he has also served as a mentor for schools and organizations like The University of Waterloo, Humber College, and the Registered Graphic Designers Association of Canada. He's been a Speaker and Panelist at various conferences, helping people learn about Inclusive Design and Accessibility.

He loves designing things that can make people’s days better.
